I've always liked how you take Speedy's concerns into consideration. It's important for him, but not everyone "gets" how to handle their dog's feelings about other people, dogs etc.
It's just so interesting that he differentiates between men and women, having been raised by you guys. Maybe he's just especially sensitive to body language, tones etc. Men tend to act very differently than women, if we look closely, and he may feel threatened by their unconcious actions, which can be more threatening, in dog language, than the average womans.
