Alright, not Christmas, but the beginning of the Parlour's Secret Santa Gift Exchange, anyway!
I'm sorry I didn't post this on the 1st, but have been ill, and just couldn't quite manage it until today. Although, it's Tango's birthday today (Let's hope for birthday photos, my camera battery doesn't seem to want to take a charge hardly at all now.) so it still seems like an appropriate day to post this, since I know he will want to participate!
As a quick reminder, here's how it works:
You sign up one or more of your pups, kitty's, birds etc. by sending to the below addy their information. At minimum that would be the name of the pet participating, and his/her physical address.
It's also a good idea to note if there is anything the participating pet may not have, such as a food which does not agree with them, or something you don't allow them to have because you don't feel it's safe for them.
I will pass the information on to the pet's Secret Santa.
Each pet that you enter will get a name in return. They will then be the Secret Santa for the pet whose name they receive.
I know that money is tight for everyone these days, so want to remind you that the gifts need not be, and shouldn't be, elaborate or expensive. A homemade gift is appreciated as much as a store bought toy or treat, and often, more. Some of you make bandanas, or tasty homemade biscuits...those are great! Some dogs are very happy with simple balls to chase, or some dried vege treats....perfect!
Once I've received the names of all the participants, I will send everyone the names that their furred and feathered kids have drawn, and then all you need to do is find and send their special treat to them in time for Christmas!
And speaking of which, I do want to address one more thing. I am aware that there was some kind of unavoidable delay in gifts with a pair of furkids last year. I don't think that's ever happened before, and I felt badly about it all around. I hope that it won't stop anyone from participating this year. It was a mail-order glitch, I believe, and we all know how that can happen. Maybe if ordering mail order, give yourself an extra margin of time, since Christmas is the busiest time of year for for most shops.
So, if your dog, cat, bird, or other critter would like to be in the Secret Santa Exchange, please send me their information to:
