The posts were getting pretty far down on the board, so I moved the last one up here, I hope you don't mind. I don't want to miss anything! 
Your last post....I'll answer below:
We haven't had another episode (yet) and for that I'm grateful. The Pretty Bird food pellets ran out last week and they seem to be adjusting to the Kaytee "Exact" pelletted food which has more vibrant colors than the Pretty Bird food had. (darn the coloring!) The third brand and I purchased was Zupreem's pelleted food - it's artificially colored, too, but less so than the previous two. (darn the coloring!)
I've eliminated their oats and have cut back on their apple quarters to twice per week, they get fresh greens every day: fresh collards are their favorite (they don't care for the ones from the grocery store), I've been inserting flat italian parsley once a week... there are green beans and broccoli leaves in the garden still but I haven't fed them those yet. It's something to look forward to trying.
One of the more positive things in all of this is, while none of the four birds are hand-tamed, when I arrive home from work now, all four of them are on the side of the cage facing the door I enter through and looking for their fresh treat. It's grand (huge, really)! And they don't fret so much when my hand enters the cage with a fresh treat. Feeding them fresh foods everyday has been educational for all of us.
