I don't remember when I began combining the ingredients to sooth, heal, etc., but I know for sure that I was using it on Taj in the 90's, and had already used it on other dogs. Now you've added ingredients to it, too!
He had hot spots, and a couple of folds that I used it on. So, I'm not surprised that it worked on your surgery place, as well. Good thinking!
Once that place heals on you, you may be able to keep it from getting a rash as often by putting a bit of dimethicone on it after a shower, and drying it well. You just put a little on your finger, and apply it. It really is protective of places like that, and cuts down on how often it is a problem. Even if just a little, it would be worth it?
The best way to buy it is in a tube made by Monistat. Even though it's put out by them, it's just pure dimethicone in a product called: Soothing Care - Chafing Relief Powder - Gel.
