Posted by Elizabeth Feisst Along the way I still continue to welcome updates to the Qualtrough database as well as contact with anyone researching Qualtroughs or descended from a Qualtrough. One major addition to the database recently was a wonderful find of a line of almost 1000 descendants of Elinor Kennish, (d/o Eleanor Qualtrough and Peter Kennish. Elinor Kennish married Thomas Gawn in Rushen, IOM in 1803) which some kind researcher had uploaded to the Internet at www.genealogy.com. These descendants are now of course added to the database. This line is in Canada and USA. Another wonderful connection was made a few months with descendants of Elizabeth Qualtrough who married Thomas Clarke in Rushen, IOM in 1878 and went to Ontario, Canada. Updates have finally been made to this branch with wonderful help from descendants Nola Clark-Bak & Markley Clarke Bond, both of Ontario. Thank you to you both for your enthusiastic help. Recent contact with Beth Rankin (nee Qualtrough) of San Marcos, Texas is leading to a completion in due course of the Qualtrough branch of Houston, Texas. I am enjoying working with Beth as she reconnects with her family once again. Some months ago I was delighted to receive a very early Qualtrough family tree from Nigel Crowe of Douglas, IOM, which has provided insights as to how to proceed to work to link the early Qualtroughs of Rushen, Arbory and Malew with those of the north of the Island in Lezayre, Lonan and beyond. The period we are talking of here is in the 1600s and prior. NIgel's work using early land records and wills will set the path to further research. I am most grateful to Nigel for his willingness to share his work and allow me to include it in the Qualtrough repository in due course. I am more than willing to share any information I have in the database but at present I not sure how the information will return to the internet. (See further posting about the genealogy website which was taken off line a year ago.) I will use the notice board from here on in for regular updates and sharings. There will be no further Newsletters unfortunately as time and lack of material dont allow such. Please post your comments here and use this and the guest book for sharing of information. Kind regards

Just to let the Qualtrough family world wide know that I have returned to doing Qualtrough research once again after a year's break. Now that I am living on the Isle of Man I can access the local records with the view to further connect some of the different branches way back in the 1600's.
