WHO: all 1/8 mile doorslammer teams
WHAT: new 1/8 mile class at Shakedown at E’townrace
WHERE: Raceway Park – Englishtown, New Jersey
WHEN: OCT 17TH & 18TH (week after NHRA Virginia, week before ADRL Texas)
HOW: $$$ 20,000 bucks to win. open to all engine combos (blown/turbo/nitrous)
if you reset current 1/8 mile world records, $2,500 bonus awards to be paid...
blown record currently at 3.666 (Jason Scruggs)
nitrous record current at 3.867 (Khalid Al Balooshi)
Turbo record currently at 3.87 (Andy Jensen)
*** all world record bonus awards are for E.T. records only
*** must back up run as per ADRL rules to win bonus award
For Immediate Release....
In an effort to attract some of the greatest doorslammer teams in the world SHAKEDOWN @ ETOWN will now offer an EXTREME 1/8 MILE CHALLENGE. This class will be open to any team that wants to compete under 1/8 mile conditions. There will also be a world record bonus award $$ if the current 1/8 door car record of 3.666 is broken. Record currently held by Jason Scruggs.
rules:
a) all NHRA safety rules apply
b) must be door car...no dragsters, altereds.
c) no min weight
d) payout....$20,000 to win !
we are hoping to show our great fan base in the Northeast just how exciting and competitive 1/8 drag racing can be!
other classes under consideration but not yet approved are:
Turbo Pro Mod Class
Import class
Revamped Heavy Street class
possible split of Drag Radial class (boost vs no boost)
