There were many many community searches done for her for a couple of months. I went out a half dozen times, always hoping she would turn up. It was encouraging to see so many folks who turned up on these searches. It kind of restored my faith in mankind.
We obviously were not real effective though. Her captures had her holed up just a couple of miles from her home in the early going. In fact she could hear searchers calling out her name just a few hundred yards from her, but her abducter had convinced her he would kill her family if she was caught.
We were all stunned when she was found 9 months later, alive.
And I agree. These creatures who do such things should at the least never see the light of day again.
