It seems to have surfaced at an antique dealer in Florida. Seemed almost sacrilegious to have it auctioned off on Ebay - but that's the way things are done nowadays. I can tell you this - at the little mission parish of St. Raphael of Brooklyn in Detroit, it caused quite a stir. There was truly an electricity in the sanctuary when the saint's troparion was sung on Sunday...looking forward to the auction. It was really unusual to have a real, tangible artifact from namesake of the church...coming from a "St. Nicholas" - it was something I'd never experienced before. Not many belongings of St. Nicholas floating around...LOL The little parish of 75 people was only "aced" in the last 20 seconds of bidding. Oh well...small but mighty. Best Regards,
Dear Bob,
