"We have concluded that when the principle of racial division (i.e. phyletism) is juxtaposed with the teaching of the Gospel and the constant practice of the Church, it is not only foreign to it, but also completely opposed, to it. We decree the following in the Holy Spirit: 1. We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics."     Dean...you're reading my mind. On Sunday I just signed someone up to record the retreat.

    I hope Fr. Tom will be encouraged when he sees the variety of women who will be attending this year. We have in attendance a Romanian preoteasa, Palestinian immigrants (and one who is Lutheran), Russian-Americans, Greek-Americans, Arab-Americans, Americans who do not come from an Orthodox background but are now Orthodox, catechumens and inquirers. Many of the women who will be attending are from the OCA. It will at least feel as if we are already unified. Maybe Sayidna's stories about the meetings with the west coast bishops will buoy his spirit too.

    Congratulations on the 10,000 downloads! Wow! Thank God! You will never know how many will come to Orthodoxy because of those recordings. What a blessing! Fr. Tom Hopko's recordings have been a source of conversions in our parish. I am sure those recordings from the Anglican-Orthodox seminar will be an initial step toward Orthodoxy for many.
