"We have concluded that when the principle of racial division (i.e. phyletism) is juxtaposed with the teaching of the Gospel and the constant practice of the Church, it is not only foreign to it, but also completely opposed, to it. We decree the following in the Holy Spirit: 1. We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics." I made inquiries, and I'm passing on what was sent -- hope it helps. I'm expecting our first grandchild in September, as well.

Getting to Know God is like a board book, printed on very heavy paper and with few words… I love your idea of making up a photo album book; another idea I’ve seen, and done myself, is laminating small icons, punching holes in the corners and putting them on a ring or thin carabiner.

And just to add… some children at that age are ready for full on picture books—even those with lots of words. My oldest could lie on the bed with me for hours and just listen to my voice and look at the pictures. My other two—well, they’ve proven themselves to be a bit busier, but they all eventually turn into good readers if you keep trying…

    From Matushka Donna:

for a 20 month old, I wonder if what this inquirer wants is a board book or cloth book or plastic book?

I have seen people make up books of their own for such wee ones, putting photos and clippings and icon prints into the plastic sleeves
    of a small photo album.
