it appears that the tonsoring of a reader in the diocese of alaska has created a national incident. the reader is a convicted child molester, the archdeacon protested and asked to be reassigned, retired or suspended, the arch deacon is being brought before spiritual court. in my mind this act of tonsuring a convicted child molester is unforgivable and it is not the archdeacon who is errant. while the protestant churches are creating safe havens and having all church personnel - even sunday school teachers - investigated so that they can be as risk to children free as possible, we seem to be going in the opposite direction -- this does not make sense to me but i would like to have other perspectives on this situation especially because i have heard that the situation is deteriorating so bably in alaska that the rocor/moscow union is seeking to regain it as part of the moscow church.
what say you? such negative press and actions are why many of our youth are seeking other demonational
