"We have concluded that when the principle of phyletism (i.e. ecclesiastical nationalism) is juxtaposed with the teaching of the Gospel and the constant practice of the Church, it is not only foreign to it, but also completely opposed, to it. We decree the following in the Holy Spirit: 1. We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics." Cycling for Project Mexico

Dear friends and relatives, Greetings once again.

I am writing to you on a very important subject that calls for your immediate action,

If you are among those who are currently holding a job, thank God for your Job and count your blessings as it is needless to mention the current economic state where millions of people are out of jobs across the country. I personally can list more than ten among which my own brother is numbered along with other close friends who have lost their jobs over the last six month.

With no end in sight it is even harder to fully comprehend the cascaded long term effect on organizations that literally depend on Good Samaritans to change the lives of many individuals in our society. In the past I had given my effort to various organizations such as the MS society, MD, Autism speaks, care USA and others to advance a worthwhile cause for finding cure to disease and fighting hunger that affect our society. I'll continue to do these works as long as I am able to at any capacity. This year because of the drying up of charitable funds across the board I have made a difficult decision and a commitment to do a fund rising to help the cause of one Orphanage that is very little known.

"Project Mexico and St. Innocent's Orphanage ", located across the border from San Diego, CA, is a 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization that serves the poor of Mexico. St. Innocent Orphanage provides care for orphan teenage boys in Tijuana Mexico, giving hope and a future to children who otherwise would have no future. The reality of these boys without St. Innocent Orphanage is existing in a society that will see them live and die on the streets of Tijuana. Additionally Project Mexico provides simple housing to families who, despite hard work and trying to do their best, are unable to provide one for themselves. While the direct ministry in Mexico is helping and transforming the orphan boys of Tijuana and providing housing for the poor and needy, Project Mexico and St. Innocent Orphanage provide opportunities to hundreds of young and adult volunteers from the US to physically be present, build a house, and participate in a way that impacts their own
    life.

As I stated above this year I will be taking the following challenges in order to raise money for the orphanage so that it can continue to reach and to transform the lives of children and widows who have no hope without the support "Good Samaritans" like you.

To sponsor me in any of these challenges please go to: http://www.projectmexico.org/donate.html and make a donation
    The events are:
    - A Marathon in Kalamazoo MI, on April 2009
    - 250 + miles cycling in 24 hours , June 2009
    - 400 mile 4 day cycling , Sept 2009

Please make your tax deductible donation online at: http://www.projectmexico.org/donate.html and add a note indicating you are sponsoring Laike Misikir for any one of the above three events.
Please send an e-mail to: laikemariam@yahoo.com and info@projectmexico.org with the amount of you donated so it can specifically be attributed towards the above challenge.

My goal is to raise a minimum of $3K (cost of raw material for a single shelter). Your support towards this minimum objective will have a profound impact in my charity challenge and effort and in the lives of many orphans and widows this year.

Meeting a stretched goal of $5K will extended my challenge to adding a full Marathon in addition to the above three challenges.

Once again if you are currently employed, may God continue to bless you with a stable job and may you give this request a priority in your kindness, and If you are among the many jobless family and friend may God bless you with a job in the near future as I ask for your prayers for a better future for this and all the other charities who rely on our kindness.

    Yours truly,
    Laike Misikir
