We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics."     Holy Epiphany Church to Hold Symposium on Science and Faith

    The Holy Epiphany Russian Orthodox Church, located in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, is holding a free symposium on Saturday, May 9, 2009, on questions concerning science and faith.

    Three papers will be presented at the symposium: "An Overview of the Problems of Science and Faith from a Pastoral Perspective;" "An Astronomer's Reading of the Bible and Creation Narration;" and "Looking for a Balance Between Faith and Science." Papers will be in Russian with English translations.

    The symposium will begin at 10:00 a.m., and will be followed by an hour-long lunch break. There will be a discussion of the papers presented after lunch.
