Christ is Risen!
While I do not recall the Kindratch study, I do know that the GOA has 549 parishes and active fasithful of about 375,000 (as opposed to the 125,000 in almost 400 parish Met. Jonah erroneously stated in his interview with a Russian journal). The OCA claims to have about 100,000 according to Met. Jonah.
If you take the comonly bantered around numbers of 2,000,000 in the GOA and 1,000,000 in the OCA, we can see which one is a more honest estimate.
GOA is 5x exagerated
OCA is 10x exagerated
Based upon the numbers when we take CREASTERS into account (i.e. baptized faithful who rarely come to Church) the GOA number of 2,000,000 is more likely than the OCA number of 1,000,000.
Also, when we look at numbers of baptisms (85,000 in the last 12 years alone in the GOA) the GOA numbers are more likely to be accurate.
Retaing those epoeple is quite another matter. We have to do a much better job in the GOA.
