Ouch, Al. The truth hurts. I have long scratched my head at the membership statistics in the GOA, AOA & OCA. I would like to know how many people show up on an "average" Sunday. If we grant the GOA 500 X 549 parishes we have 274,000 members. If we give the Antiochians 150 X 250 parishes we have 37,500 members. Let's give the OCA the same 150 X 600(?) parishes and we end up with 90,000. That gives us a grand total of 401,500 active members. I think I am being more than generous but this gives us, what I believe to be, a fairly realistic picture of US membership. To claim a million (that are in any way active seems to be tops).
