I think it's interesting that the Cyprus meeting seems to have been cancelled, and replaced with this lower level Chambessy exchange.
Perhaps the Old World patriarchs got the message (delivered by Met. Jonah) to respectfully "go pound sand"...(as they say in your state). Personally, I think a deal had been cut between the Old World patriarchs, and Met. Jonah threw a wrench in it when he told them he would not play ball. But that's just my speculation.
In any case, I read this as "one for the good guys."
