The Holy Synod of Antioch -- during its meetings over the last few days -- has re-affirmed the recent decision of February 24, 2009, according to theantiochian.com website.
All bishops in the North American Antiochian Archdiocese will remain Auxiliary Bishops to Metropolitan Philip.
The re-affirmation of the February 24 decision clearly states that Auxiliary Bishops are to serve under the authority of the Metropolitan and that he is their point of reference.
The text of the resolution has not yet been released to the public, although it is expected to be released within the next few days.
This decision puts a final end to the controversy and confusion that has pervaded the North American Antiochian Archdiocese since February, 2009. It is expected that all Orthodox Christians will abide by this decision and now focus their efforts on enhancing the spirituality and unity of the beloved Orthodox Church of Christ.
