"We have concluded that when the principle of phyletism (i.e. ecclesiastical nationalism) is juxtaposed with the teaching of the Gospel and the constant practice of the Church, it is not only foreign to it, but also completely opposed, to it. We decree the following in the Holy Spirit: 1. We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics." The two resolutions that passed at the 2009 Antiochian Convention

The first motion was passed Thursday morning on July 23.

"I motion that no person who has been an officer or director of a company which has been convicted of or settled criminal charges or who has personally been convicted of or settled criminal charges may be a member of the Board of Trustees or the Local Synod."

    The delegate reported:

"I had lots of people praying for me when I made the motion including St. Raphael. No sooner did the words come out of my mouth when ten people shouted out, "second!" And it passed easily. But Metropolitan Philip did say, as I was returning to my seat, that we do not have any criminals on the board."

The second motion was passed Friday July 24 after the audit discussion.

"RESOLVED, THAT the Board of Trustees, by December 1 of this year, establish an official Constitutional Reconciliation Committee consisting of no fewer than three members appointed by the Local Synod and headed by a bishop selected by the Local Synod to draft an Archdiocesan Constitution that is consistent with New York law and in a form acceptable to the Holy Synod of Antioch. Such Committee shall give a progress report at each Board of Trustees meeting until the resulting Constitution is approved by the members of the Archdiocese."
