Is OCL on topic here? They went out of the web forum business ages ago. I'm pretty sure they can be contacted thru their own website tho, especially that Chicago-area leadership.
What I'd like to know (not really, but just for the sake of conversation) is what one of the world's most senior Orthodox Hierarchs believes Mr Stokoe has done in violation of the letter or s/Spirit of the canons? If anything, why not follow canonical procedure to bring Stokoe up on charges, and let the proper tribunal rule on it? For that matter, Metropolitan METHODIOS in his beef over Bishop NIKON too?
ISTM the Church has the Holy Canons as "measuring sticks" for behavior in the Church, precisely to protect the Church from "nuclear politics" like these. Maybe an overall "canonically relaxed" atmosphere these last 90 years has contributed to many of Orthodoxy's problems worldwide ... I dunno.
