St. Vladimir's Seminary invites all Orthodox Christians to its Crestwood, New York campus for its annual Open House, Orthodox Education Day, on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
This year's theme, "God's Green Earth: Ecology and Theology," will focus on the lives of the saints and their relationship to the cosmos. A variety of exhibits related to the environment will be featured.
Keynote speaker will be Dr. Vigen Guroian, an Armenian theologian and professor of Religious Studies in Orthodox Christianity at the University of Virginia, who will speak on "Ecological Musings from the Garden."
There will be several other outstanding speakers at the Open House, and Metropolitan Jonah will lead a special workshop for teens on the intersection of ecology and theology.
