The GOA was divided into the Archdiocese of America and the Metropolises of Canad, Central America and South America in 1996. Between the resignation of Abp. Iakovos and the election of Abp. Spyridon. Not sure what that has to do with the point, as we were talking about the Charter issue which took place during the first years of Abp. Dimitrios.

Also, the Bishops became titular metropolitans in 1994 or 95 as I recall. They were elevated to full metropolises/metropolitans I beieve in 1996. Again, not sure what that has to do with your assertion that it was the Charter "scandal" which brought down Abp. Spyridon.
