While some or all of what you say may be correct (except the part about Abp. Iakovos being expelled) it still has nothing to do with the original statement about the "Charter Scandal". In spite of the fact that Fr. Vlahos likes to make these little hit and run nonsensical statements, the charter issue was not a scandal. As I stated before, the only scandal was the supposed "faithful" Orthodox Christians of OCL suing the archdiocese (something they lost on every level) and that they did it (I hae this on good authority) to try and break tyhe archdiocese financially.
As far as what got the whole ball rolling, well that is much more complicated than what you say, although those events (or your somewhat biased and abbreviated version of them did indeed play a role what eventually transpired). Abp. Spyridon made the fatal mistake of taking on several "sacred cows" too soon (both clergy and lay) and that coupled with a distrust of too many things led to losing the support of many vocal clergy and ultimately the hierarchs. When the latter happened, it was the end.
As far as why the mets were elevetaed to full mets, your theory is at best speculative and most likely just plain not true.
In any case, things are going well. I see Fr. Hans still refuses to post anything about the AOCA scandal. I am not surprised, you no the old saying about not doing certain bodily functions where you eat. Met. Philip isn't known to be that tolerant of criticism.
BTW, the whole ROCOR-OCA thing on AOI throws a little cold water on the whole idea of the love fest between ROCOR and OCA. Interesting and sad development, though not surprising to many of us.
