"As for your view of the Church of Crete, you make my point. One of the bugbears of the vast majority of non-Greek churches is that the Greek churches have twisted the rules of ecclesiology. Just because the Church of Greece or the EP proclaims some extinct mountaintop a "metropolis" doesn't make it so."
Now George, lets at least not change the debate to try to make your point. The above quotation from one of your earlier posts clearly shows you were not talking about "...Troas, Ephesus, Chalcedon, Aspendos, Pergumum...". You were talking about the Church of Greece and the EP with rreegard to it's metropolises in Crete.
Furthermore, the GOA metropolises are not generally, larger in size, but clearly are in numbers of faithful. Whicha again, proves my point. The Diocese of the Midwest is far larger in area than the Metropolis of Chicago. The Diocese of New England is slightly larger in size than the Metropolis of Boston. The Diocese of the West is larger in size that the Metropolis of San Francisco, The Diocese of the South is far larger than the Metropolis of Atlanta, The Diocese of New York and New Jersey is larger in size than the Metropolis of New Jersey. Leave out the Bulgarian Diocese and the Romanian Diocese as they are an anomaly which has no comparison in the GOA, though they are hardly "compact". Your argument just does not hold water. It is not factually correct.
Finally, you shouldn't listen to the gossip of 2 GOA priests who may have told you their opinion. Should I listen to any 2 OCA priests who may have an opinion about whether the problems have really been addressed in the OCA?
Come on George, face it, Fr. Vlachos was just spouting off another one of his "odd" diatribes against the GOA. Why he stays in the GOA (other than the money) is beyond me. The Charter issue in the GOA was not a scandal in teh way that the OCA scandal was. It's a fact.
