"We have concluded that when the principle of phyletism (i.e. ecclesiastical nationalism) is juxtaposed with the teaching of the Gospel and the constant practice of the Church, it is not only foreign to it, but also completely opposed, to it. We reject and condemn racial division, that is, racial differences, national quarrels and disagreements in the Church of Christ, as being contrary to the teaching of the Gospel and the holy canons of our blessed fathers, on which the holy Church is established and which adorn human society and lead it to Divine piety. 2. In accordance with the holy canons, we proclaim that those who accept such division according to races and who dare to base on it hitherto unheard-of racial assemblies are foreign to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and are real schismatics."     Al, your example of the priest in question solidifies my point. Both instances were egregious. I admit I used hyperbole, but the facts are the facts. I don't know if you've ever had to move on a moment's notice, but I can assure you it's quite stressful. I can't imagine what it would be like if my wife was pregnant in such a situation. I'm sure neither you nor Jolynn would appreciate such a thing happening to you.

    Please don't try to minimize it, after all, Philip himself realized the enormity of what he had done when he came up with the mealy-mouthed excuse that he did it in order to rectify "an imbalance" between the schools in question and that these seminarians required more training in "the common Syro-Byzantine tradition." What hogwash.
