Posted by Leo So, do we object to uniatism because traditionally it steals sheep from us, or because it's objectively wrong, maybe even theologically?

Just wondering---
The Anglican Communion, about to be dented by Rome's new idea for Anglican-use "personal ordinariates," has the following "interests" on Orthodox Canonical Territory as commonly understood by Orthodox (more or less):
And if there's any doubt what happens to an "Ordinariate" under Rome after a time:
In 1913 the Ordinariate of United States of America, Faithful of the Oriental Rite (Ukrainian), was created; as you can see, in just 1924 it was promoted to the Apostolic Exarchate of United States of America, Faithful of the Oriental Rite (Ukrainian), and in 1958 it basically became the Ukrainian Metropolia of the USA with first 2, then 3, and now 4 dioceses. Other ethnic or liturgical Ordinariates exist and have existed, usually as building-blocks to "something bigger." Look at the category of "Apostolic Exarchate" here, almost always used in the 20th century as a proto-diocese. They may say that Anglican ones will remain part of the Latin Church, but get enough of them and they're sure to want build into a new "Particular Church," an even bigger alternative to the Anglican Communion ... or just walk back out on Rome. Into Metropolitan JONAH's arms? Time will tell....
Considering the smallness of some Latin and Uniate communities in some places, Anglican-use RC communities could represent a significant percentage increase there for Rome -- though I say this not knowing the "churchmanship" of the Anglicans in those particular regions, ie, High/Broad/Low or "liberal/conservative." Also, since those in the Third World seem pretty Evangelical (presumably anti-papal, unless it's the Abp of Nigeria running for Prot. Pope of Alexandria!); plus our own numbers there are pretty low generally; so alot of the above could be just symbolic "intrusions," like the thousands of other Protestant and "Catholic" and "Orthodox" groups there already.
Still, curiouser and curiouser....

PS: One might say, what about Western converts to Orthodoxy like me? Well, for one thing, o/Orthodoxly we might dispute Rome's "canonical territory" expanding by Frankish military might, genocide, etc., to so much of the world. Even that Rome has ANY c.t. since falling away from the Church -- the position THEY took against us for so many centuries. Except supposedly we have lots of "empirical theology"....
