Dear Al, Christos Anesti! Re: I wish the Church in Russia nothing but success, but one really has to be careful about thinking that the enemy of your enemy is truly your friend. Just to be clear, I'm not FOR Russian hegemony, although I can sympathize with their point of view. But I AM for removing obstacles to American unity - if it takes a reordering of the diptychs to allow that to happen, so be it. Think about it - isn't it ridiculous that the ecumenical patriarchate has placed itself in that position. Instead of leading the charge for the establishment of local Orthodox Churches, leading to order in the Orthodox oecumene, as is their responsibility - they have become to major obstacle to that happening. You really have to scratch your head...or at least I do. Best Regards, Dean
