Reading your response to Leo, I was struck by something. Please don't be offended by this.
I've spent the last 5 years telling many in the OCA, "You want to BE the American...then start ACTING like the American church."
The culture in the OCA seems to enjoy acting as lapdogs to the EP....have never understood that. And I really expected (and continue to expect) that to change with Met. Jonah.
Now, I read by you, and others, that it's the MP we need to worry about..God forbid that they don't recognize the OCA.
I guess my question is this, with all due respect: Who cares what the EP thinks, and who cares what the MP thinks?
I mean, seriously, the OCA is here, and we are not going anywhere. Not because the EP says to, and not because the MP changes it's mind.
It seems to me that the sooner we start acting like the American church, not worrying about who recognizes us and who doesn't, the sooner we will BECOME the American church.
You've had YEARS of experience with these (OCA) folks...does that make any sense to you?
