Thus far, the future for Namor seems ok. He still remains as the first character of Marvel, and that's why they can't get rid of him forever. And Stan Lee seemed to like Namor when he wrote him - he wroted all the comics where Namor has beaten Hulk, for example. They should let Roy Thomas (writer of Tales to Astonish) to write something for Namor too. Greg Pak writes the Namor What If. Two days to it's release:

There was of course the Giant Size Invaders #2 which had quite a lot of Namor. And I...enjoy Ultimate Fantastic Four if I can think Namor as an entire new character there. He is clearly a villain, and not misunderstood (and somewhat mad) as in 616 comics. And his lust for Sue Storm is annoying, unlike in 616 where he really does love her.
