Posted by Torch on 6/25/2007, 11:23 am, in reply to "Namora's Parents" Namora was the product of an Atlantean Father and Human Mother. Also, her supposed "death" in the Silver Age, in SUB-MARINER #50-51 was never confirmed. She was only shown as having been encased in a block of ice after she was poisoned by Llyra and Byrrah. Her body was then used as leverage to make young Nita do their bidding against Namor. As a Human-Atlantean hybrid, Namora was actually immune to poisons, just like Namor, but she did get sick, when is how Llyra was able to subdue her. This is why Namora was able to supposedly return from the dead. She was only in suspended animation until she was freed by the Agents of Atlas. -Torch --Previous Message--

Her Atlantean "father" was depicted in her introduction story back in the late 1940s early 1950s. I forget the exact issue number, but I believe it was SUB-MARINER COMICS #26 or 27.
: Is anyone aware of any story, either gold,
: silver or modern age, that depicts Namora's
: parents? She's usually drawn as Namor's
: female twin in everything but hair color so
: I'm guessing either there was another
: Atlantian-Human pairing at some point or
: she's a mutated clone of Namor the same way
: Namorita was shown in Byrne's Namor series
: to be a clone (with minor alterations) of
: Namora.
