I just picked up the Movie Edition of Wizard magazine and what I read almost made me PUKE! The proposed movie that's coming out will be about young Namor. Apparently they are going to follow the death path of the last horrible Namor series. Wizard recommends Ian Somerhalder as Namor. They say he's got the look, they say he's kingly, mischevious and, well, slightly effeminate, in keeping with continuity. WHAT BULL$@*%! What continuity are they talking about? That horrible last series has been, thankfully dead for awhile. I guess we can expect to see little naked Namor again, Ugh!
The Namor I've read in the 60's and 70's is not in any way effeminate. Check out TTA #100 and tell me the Sub-Mariner who stood toe to toe with the Incredible Hulk is an effeminate pretty boy!I'm afraid my Namor is lost forever. All I have left are the TTA issues, the first and second Sub-Mariner series. Anything after that? For me, NOTHING!!!
ps It breaks my heart to see how dead this board has gotten.
