"Namor possesses a high level of superhuman strength enabling him to lift/press up 100 tons while in contact with water; his strength gradually decreases according to the length of time he is out of the water and can eventually dwindle to no more than slightly above human level." I have a problem with this. Marvel needs to state what Namor HAS done not what limited standard of strength they have placed on Namor. Look to the books not the handbook. Namor has far exceeded what the handbook says he can do. Up to a 100 tons is a joke. Namor has easily pressed a 2,000 ton destroyer and lifted and held steady a 110,000 ton tanker. He's thrown a 50 ton tank 30,000 ft in the air which mistakenly hit an airliner. Namor has lifted and thrown a 40 ton railroad boxcar. Breaking the Crimson Bands is a monstrous feat of Namor's. Only a handfull have done it and Namor did it out of water where he isn't at full strength. The FF hardback encyclopedia that I have lists Namor's strength at #6 which is between 75-100 tons. It's a joke to believe these numbers when Namor HAS lifted far, far more. Namor defeated the Abomination by taking him to the bottom of the hellencian trench, 15,000 feet below the surface. Abomination's blood oxygen was so screwed up he was useless. Namor could have killed him easily. Namor is much tougher and stronger than he's given credit for. It's up to us Sub-Mariners to set the record straight.
ps see DarkCrawler's scans, as some examples, of Namor's prodigious strength!
