Posted by Avenging Son on 8/16/2005, 7:43 pm, in reply to "Sub-Mariner 46" --Previous Message-- Namor, through Llyra and Tigershark, is reunited with his long thought dead father. They held Capt. Mackenzie hostage and as a pawn, hoping Namor would do their bidding of giving Tiger Shark more of Namor's sea spawned powers that Tiger Shark was losing. Namor and Tiger Shark battle on Llyra's ship. She commands her aid Lymondo to open a hatch so they can continue their battle in the sea. Namor instantly discovers that Tiger Shark can no longer breathe in the sea. Llyra realizes the mistake of throwing Tiger Shark in the ocean and has Lymondo hit them with an electro-magnetic ray that renders them both unconscious. Llyra uses Dr Dorcas' machinery to drain more power from Namor into Tiger Shark. Meanwhile Sting Ray comes into the battle and Llyra's ship is tattered in battle with Tiger Shark. Namor was tossed into the brig with his father. Namor then defeats Lymondo in battle quickly because the listing ship is taking on water and Namor knows his father will drown. Capt. Mackenzie saves his sons life when he knocks a gun out of Llyra's hand. Tiger Shark then hits Capt. Mackenzie on the head with a pipe, killing him. A distraught Namor swims away. Just as Namor found his human father and was reconnecting, Tiger Shark took it away in a violent death stroke. Namor's father was presummed dead before Namor's birth. AS

: I've read and purchased Sub-Mariner #46,
: (Feb., '72) but I don't understand what went
: on. Reading the book felt like walking in
: during the middle of a film.
:
: I'd appreciate if you helped me understand
: the entire plot, and the motivations behind
: the characters. Thanks a bunch!
I know you said you have this issue I couldn't help retelling it. You see I haven't read this issue in ages and I forgot how heartbreaking it was. I also relived this issue in realizing what a good and loving man Namor is. Hope this helps.
