Question for Brand Echh!

Can you shed some light for me regarding your board name? I remember, as a kid, reading Marvel's "Not Brand Echh" satirical comics and I believe that's where you've choose your name. But can you tell me what Marvel meant by "Not Brand Echh." I don't get it. And how is "Echh" supposed to be pronounced? Sorry, but I'm not getting the joke and I've always wondered.
