Posted by Tim "Fric" Johnson I can't say whether you sound sincere or not. But your message seems to say that you are. There's nothing wrong with being focused on your warm market either. Many people build their business entirely in their warm market. And many do it entirely in their cold market. When you are strapped for cash, as many MLMers are, you have to be creative. Are you a product of your products? Do you have great stories to tell about people who have had success with your products? If not, contact your upline and others in your company to gather some. Your company website should have some too. Tell these stories. Wear a button with a catchy question like "Lose weight, ask me how!" or "My long distance is FREE! Is yours?" You should be putting flyers on bulletin boards all over town. Make up business card sized drop cards and put them all over where people are likely to pause such as by phones, drinking fountains, gas pumps, etc. etc. When you meet new people (and I assume you are out trying to do that Do you have product samples? If so, hand them out to people who express an interest in your button or flyer or cards or whatever. Don't ever hand them out to everyone. That's a waste of money. People have to ask for it. They have to want it, or they will never try it. Frac and I are working on a new tapeset called Prospecting on a Budget. Should be out soon. In the meantime, I recommend Doug Firebaugh's Power Secrets to Becoming a Recruiting Magnet, Biblical Recruiting Genius of Christ and Psycholgy of Recruiting. I would also go to your upline and ask for help working your business on a shoestring. Do they help you with 3-ways, meetings, etc. etc. They should. If they don't, go up a level, and to the next and the next and the next until you find someone above you who will work with you and your people. In your situation I wouldn't worry about overseas business. You don't have a US business yet. It's exciting to think you could be in on the ground floor of a new country. BUT... MLM has already hit Australia, so it's only your company that is new. So you would be in the same boat you are in now, only unable to properly support your people. And the costs are prohibitive at your level. An overseas business is for experienced people or those with links to that country in my opinion. When you are established here with a regular income, then you can think about going "down under". Hope these ideas help! --Previous Message--

Barb,
ask leading questions as you get to know them to see if they are the kind of people you would like to partner with. If so, you can ask if they ever look into extra ways to make money. If yes, set an appointment to talk about it. Never do it then. Tell them you don't have the time or the materials right now.
: I started my MLM business Oct 02. 7 months
: later I have run my charge cards at max.
: and have only 2 partners. I can't afford
: buying leads so I'm focused on my
: "warm" market and I have an
: absolute great product. I believe in it
: totally and it's value. Am I not coming
: across as caring and believing? Any
: advise would be greatly welcomed.
: Also we are opening overseas and I would
: really like to know how to contact people
: in Australia, England, Whales, etc. to see
: if they would be interested.
: Thanks for listening!
