Posted by Benjamin The store is called Oriental Bazaar in Omotesando. It is a famous and huge shop containing Asian goods, antiquities, pearls, kimonos, woodblock prints and so on. Quite popular with visiting foreigners. Well my wife and I popped in and who other than Steven Seagal himself do I see speaking in very good Japanese with a clerk about a piece of antique Chinese furniture. He had a small entourage. One young white guy looking in his twenties wearing some bling-bling. And a couple of Japanese women who seemed to be like secretaries. OR assistants. He was wearing a kind of pull over Chinese garment, blue, and looked somewhat surprisingly exactly the way he does in the movies. Surprisingly, no one was paying any attention to him. I kind of watched him for a moment, and then moved on. Coming back down the stairs, we passed each other. He looked right in my eyes, and I stared back and nodded. He nodded. Then I said, 'I like your movies.' He nodded and smiled, and said Thank you. Of course a very brief meeting, but he came across like a very decent human being. I have seen plenty of stars in my life in Tokyo, as well as LA and New York, and he certainly behaved in one of the most modest, open and down to earth ways I have encountered. Funny enough, after my wife and I left the shop and headed up the street, not two minutes later we saw Kimu Taku, of the Japanese pop group SMAP, heading out of Louis Vuitton with his wife and two kids. There was a small, respectful mob of young girls silently following him to his car from a distance. Two stars in two minutes. Thought you Steven Seagal fans might appreciate the story. Cheers,Ben

I am not a huge Steveen Seagal fan, but have enjoyed his movies over the years, and so was kind of excited to see him today in a Tokyo shop.
