The weekness of the tampa 2 scheme is the deep middle of the field. Moreover, when the wr's do not operate in the deep middle, it becomes the mlbers responsibility to cover any rb's or te's that go into that crease.
Last week, I read many viking posters lamenting the coverage of our safties on Vernon davis in that middle seam. yes, our safties were nowhere to be found on those plays until the pass was in the air. that is because it was EJ Hendersons zone to cover. The lber has to get a very deep drop on passing downs in the 2 deep scheme the vikings play. To ej's credit, he played both of those td's to davis correctly. It took 2 perfect passes from shaun hill to gain those completions. from what I have seen of Aron Rodgers, he rarely puts air under the ball to drop such a pass into the small window the 2 deep allows. Rodgers seems more of the rifle it through the coverage type. If hill had tried to gun those passes in to davis last week, henderson was turned around and waiting. They would not have been completions.
The vikings need to play calmly, within their scheme. Stay disciplined on defense and maintain their gaps. On offense, take what the packers are giving up. They can shutdown AD maybe, likely it will take 8 & 9 in the box to do so. So then, many recievers will be running free, and then favre needs to take what is given. If they do so. This game is won.
I agree with you. Shiancoe could have a huge game tonight. I look for he and percy to combine for nearly half the vikings ydg.
Packers can win only if their oline plays out of it's head and ryan grant has a big night. If it all falls on rodgers? They are toast.
