Listening to John Clayton

I was out tonight and happened to be listening to John Clayton on ESPN radio. He was at the dome and said he heard a conversation toward the end of the game where Chilly went up to Favre and said "We need to convert some of these drives into touchdowns, not field goals." Favre supposedly answered back "no sh*t, Sherlock." I wonder how much authority he has (or will eventually have) to change plays at the line.
