As I stated earlier. the tampa 2 is predicated on hitting recievers HARD. Rule changes have rendered the tampa 2 a shell of itself. And now, in tampa. they no longer run the scheme.
When I said it was the system, I was talking about some specific plays to the te down the deep middle of the field. and how it is the mlbers job to drop deep enough. It is not the "system" when Ty johnson takes bad angles or fails to fill his gap. It is not the system when karl paymeh fails to get his body into positionto bat away a ball. It is not the system when ray rice3 runs free in the secondary running or catching.
Nope, alot of that was poor play and lousy tackling.
What the tampa 2 is designed to do is keep everything infront of you, and then seperate the ball from the reciever. Or, make him think about the hit that is coming. It is designed to keep the clamps on the running game, allowing the cb's to cheat up in support.
As for noodle, I wouldn't call him terrible. I mean the vikes are 6-0 and seem to move the ball at will. the fkao (favre kick ass offense) has finally shown up. And it looks good! yes, you can criticise beveldress for a lack of killer instinct, but dan snyder sopends just as much as zyg and has 0-6 to show for it vs the vikes 6-0.
I've said it before. I don'y like chilli's choice of schemes. both the wco and the cover 2 are stale. However, he has filled those schemes with solid to great players and they run the schemes fairly well. we are set for week 7 and have yet to peak. there is still many mistakes and a perfect game from the vikes seems a long way away. GOOD! lets wait to peak until weeks 19 &20!
