I just haqve a hunch, that someone is going to get blown out in this game. The vikings have been trying to blow people out, but if you watch inside the nfl this week, there is a conversation on the sidelines where pat williams says "do you smell it?" And one of the other viking defenders says "yup, your breath smells like a but whuppin".
Then the whole defense yucks it up, slaps eachothers backs, and promptly tries to give the game away in the final 10 minutes.
So, somethings gotta give. Too amny weeks in a row it's sprint to the stall. I just don't see it happening again. It's likely both winfield and palomalu are out for this game.TP einjured his knee vs the browns, and it's just silly for either team to risk further damage in a nonconference game.
So how about a look at the replacements? Ty carter in for Polamalu. I'm sorry. it's just so steep a drop it's not really worth discussing. A 5'6 college star that is barely adequate at the nfl level. Nope! Favre will have a field day! I think AP too goes off. this could be the stillers worst home defensive performance in years!
Now for the winfield replacement.Karl paymah. He, like ty carter has been dreadful at times. But paymah actually is usually in position. His cover skills aren't that bad. he just fails to get his hands up or misses with his swat. At the very end of the ravens game, paymah was shutting down his side of the field. Sure he missed a couple tackles. After rewatching the game, karl looked tired, or perhaps indecisive? And if he can't cut it(but I think he will) there is the new kid up, Asher Allen.
To make things worse for the steelers, their offensive line still struggles. The great ellusiveness of ben is the only reason for their success right now. That does not match up well for them this week. Not with the dline rotation of the vikes. Jimmy Kennedy is starting to play well, as are brian robison and ray edwards. Sure, there is alot to clean up on the viking defense this week. They have gotten sloppy and lazy. neutral z infractions. poor tackling, bad angles. It all came to a climax in that 4th qtr V the Ravens.
Good Defenses take a b###h slap like that, and get ir fixed. Well, guess what? The Vikings are still a very good defense. This week it'll show as they get a boost of overconfidence before the 1st half finale vs the packers.
get r done leslie!
