the staff knows this is not a superbowl year.
Mcnabb was signed, rather cheaply for a man of his pedigree, to be a 1 year starter. to allow ponder a year to learn and get up to speed.
Thats how long, barring injury, Mcnabb will start. as the season goes on and ponder gets more confident. he will get some playing time.
But very few are the rookie qb's that actually look good at the position as a rook.
Look how crappy rodgers looked in pre season his first few years. Now look at him.
I still prefer allowing a qb to learn awhile b4 tossing him in. Obviously, the vikes could use some weapons to make the qb's job easier. Viking fans are still scratching their heads at Butterfingers berrian making the team, but cap constraints prevented any upgrades.
It's a shame for a guy like winfield that the vikes arein rebuild. one of the best players in the nfl, and he's not gonna see the playoffs as a viking.
