I did not say Percy was a Pussycat. Berrian is a grade 1 pussy. He is gone.
Percy just CANNOT be counted on, and in no way can he be a number 1 receiver. He needs a number 1 to thrive. We don't have one. And all of the bumps and bruises he has including his headaches add up to him being a headache. He is a great returner, but no good if he is out often, and he is. He is one of those "Mr. Glass" players...if we can find a number 1 (hello Mr. Blackmon), then Percy could be a great 2 slot receiver. No way anyone convinces me that he is a cornerstone on offense though. I say make Rudolph such a cornerstone amongst who we have. I think he has great hands and a lot of potential...like a young Tony Gonzalez.
Anyway, I think our O is fixable in the next year. Our D is not, not in the next one year. Has to be done incrementally. Start with hiring some coaches that have a gonads enough to take chances and play daring schemes with position-specific talent. Problem is we don't have a lot of talent on D, other than the line maybe.
Oh, and while you are at all this, replace the HC too.
Okay, enough venting.
