right now, the vikes are tied with the rams, dolphins and panthers for the 2nd worse record in the nfl Not another win assures the vikes of a top 4 pick in the 2012 draft.
As much as it would be nice to hand the packers their 1st loss of the season. or as good a feelking it would give the fans to go on a run in the 2nd half of the season. finish maybe 10-6 or 9-7. Truely, the best scenerio for the vikes is to play 'em close but tank 'em all.
Watching the colts yesterday, Polian gets it. that team has packed it in. they are sucking for luck. But that doesn't mean the next 5 draft slots aren't nearly as valuable. Not with landry jones, matt barkley. russell wilson, R griffen the 3rd. + wr's blackmon and jeffries, lt's martin and kalil, and 5 star defenders coples and clairborne.,.having a top 5 pick likely means a qb starved team is willing to jump up 5 spots, forfeit a 2nd rounder for the right to gran landry jones or matt barkley. Staying ahead of az& miami is important. Hopefully the vikes can gey it done.
Think about it. What would you rather have the resy of this season. a winless or 1 win 2nd half combined with the highest viking draft pick in team history? or bragging right on the pack for a short week? perhaps an exciting 2nd half run that ultimately ends short of a superbowl.
