Superbowl 37 Tampa Bay vs Oakland Pittman 29 rushes 124 yards
Superbowl 35 Baltimore vs Giants Jamal Lewis 27 rushes 102 yards
Superbowl 33 Denver vs Green Bay Terrell Davis 157 yards 3 td's
Superbowl 32 Denver vs Atlanta Terrell Davis 102 yards rushing
So out of the last 12 years 5 of the year the rushing attack has made a major contribution to the victory. I just looked at the stats of the winner. I know there were games that the losing team had a 100 yard rusher.
No doubt the NFL is evolving into a pass happy league. It will return to a rushing league eventually as the defense evolves to stop the pass with teams being less and less able to stop the run because of this evolution.
All you can do is try to find the next Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers but the odds are hugely stacked against you.
Like I said I'm all for drafting O line, WR, and DB's. Let's hope we can address the issues through the draft and FA.
I'm all for a GM since I believe that the Vikings have missed more then they have hit on their selections.
Agreed that the Vikings should quit using picks to move up unless it is an absolute no brainer. Neither Gerhart or T. Jackson was worth moving up for at the price they paid. However, Gerhart is still a quality back.
