Why wouldn't Minnesota want to build a new stadium? I can't figure it out. Are the pols really that shortsighted? For $500 Mill the State owns the Stadium...not the Wilfs. The Wilfs only get paid on game days. But that still means big tax revenue for the State. The 500 million is just an investment into the State's economy and will be paid back many many times over. The amount of jobs the Stadium provides has to be in the thousands. The hotels and restaurants would see a huge increase in business with a new stadium. Big money events would come back to Minnesota. The NCAA Final Four and a guaranteed Super Bowl and other events too numerous to mention.
At very least the Citizens of Minnesota know that 500 million of tax money is kicked back into their economy. Better that than depend on the same politicians to divide up that money and use it for their own pet projects ie: wasted or stolen.
Anybody wanna be devil's advocate here? Am I missing something?
