Last year this team didn't have a lot of trouble scoring, they had a lot of trouble playing defense. The Giants have shown you can win if you can play good defense and run the clock with a good running game and adequate passing.
The Vikings need a pass rush and better cover -2 coverage. At this point they have nothing at safety and the defensive line needs a quality Dt to rotate in.
I also believe the WR aspect of the game is not nearly as important at the TE is becoming. With Rudolph and Harvin the table is set for a #1 wideout to emerge. So that rules out a WR in the first. Claibourne is a a man coverage guy who does not fit a cover-2 system, that shoots the CB down in the first.
I think Kalil is good, but there are better players out there and as Vic and other have noted, Pac-12 teams have no pass-rushers. This is a running team, the Vikes need a run blocker first at LT.
So thats my reasoning. I'm sticking with Barron (who is a Ronnie Lot clone) or Cox (who is a Kevin Williams type player).
