I wish I trusted the defense to be innovative.

I would like to see a 4-2-1-2-2 without a MLB and instead play an extra Safety near the line as a base set in the pass happy NFL. On a 3rd and 2, play an extra D-lineman and run a 5-2-1-3 with a corner coming off and playing three S and a corner on whoever splits out. It all could be semantics (What is a corner and what is a cover Safety), but I simply don't see any innovation on the Vikes defense to compensate for the pass happy NFL.
