They are a team built to pass, and stop the pass.
They are so desperate at rb, they went and signed cedric benson this [ast week. Starks is out for the foreseeable future with a bad case of turf toe. Their oline is banged up, and the lack of depth shows. even if they had a decent rb, there are no holes for anyone to run through. The porous oline has meant rodgers is rolling out almost every play. the qb backup, graham harrell looks lost, mentally slow, and possesses the arm of vinny torretta. harrell is just plain AWFUL!. expect the packers to pick up a backup qb as cuts come down later in the month. No way they can stick with harrell. Harrell in 3 consecutive series had a pick 6(overturned by defense lined up in neutral zone) a 2nd pick 6 and a intentional grounding in the endzone safety. Vs the chargers, harrell was floating ducks as if he was tossing clay pidgeons for target practice.
Defense is a running sieve. decent vs the pass, but cleveland just rammed the ball down their throat all night with, gag, montereo hardesty. The packs 31 pick, nick perry looked ok. Got some pressure but also out of place on some plays. 2nd round pick-dt jerel worthy looked like jerel worthless. That was the knock on worthy at mich st. some times a beast, but a houdini disappearing act on too many plays. vs the browns, worthy disappeared.
I dont think their highly touted defensive draft fix fixes much this year. perry has much to learn switching from college de to nfl olb, and worthty will only put out high effort if there is high reward. as a 3-4 de, paid at 2nd round level, worthy is likely to take his rookie season off. come contract year, worthy will be a beast.
i'd rather have vikes 7th rounder myron guyton on the roster than jerel worthy. guyton played in beast mode every down friday night!
