Case in point; Byron Buxton. At the beginning of last year he looked to be the best thing in all of baseball sans a hitter in Anaheim. A month and a half in that started to change.
This year no such Byron but hitting ok until this series at NY. He went 0 for 12 with 10 strikeouts.
One year a go they shouted MVP and now he can't be traded. But he contributes in the field? Ahh, that answer is no. He is considered too delicate to participate on the field. And now I am watching as his crap style of hitting is spreading throughout the ranks. Larnach stared at strike 3, right down the middle. Kepler couldn't swing at a grooved fastball because it was the first pitch and apparently that is a no-no.
Hitter after hitter thinking instead of hitting. Why I have a player crush on Miranda. He is in the box the hit the ball. Not to guess pitches, not to say no to improper counts. Just to see the ball and put the ball in play. You don't pull an outside pitch(at least it is in play, one thing at a time) you hit it where it is pitched.
I know the Twins put down a 9 in the first a couple days ago. I am just worried the will regress to thinkers rather than hitters. Like a golf swing, one wants their mind quiet.
So I plead with a franchise that can fix B. Buxton. make a trade for him, fix his swing and you will be very happy watching him at the dish.
My dream is a lineup of aggressive (with in the zone) batters, not a lineup of thinkers. See ball hit ball, fukkin A.
