The reason Adofo-Mensah has played the waiting game is likely the same reason why he held onto Za’Darius Smith for so long: finding a trade partner. With June 1st looming, teams around the league will be gaining salary cap space due to their post-June 1st cuts. Two of the top three team on that list are prime trade candidates for Cook: Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys, Tyler Forness of USA Today's Vikings Wire reports.
Does that mean that a trade is imminent? Absolutely not, but SKOR North’s Thor Nystrom reported on an episode of Purple Daily on Draft that there were trade parameters made with an AFC team on a Cook trade after June 1st.

My guess, if a partner is found. The GM connection in Denver? The broncos have 8 rb's on the current roster, but only 2 that have shown NFL worthiness...

The 2022 Broncos were likely the most disappointing team in the league. Russ Wilson & Hack Hackett got the media hatchet job. But, when Javonte Williams went down. Their season went permanently south. The addition of Perine was a great insurance policy behind the so far- 1 year wonder From NC, J Williams. But that one year was a better version of Dalvin Cook. Perrine is a different style. But cook & Williams are nearly the same guy. I'm being generous with Dalvin in this comparison. In Javonte Williams rookie year, 2021. He was arguably the top bell cow back in the league. & If you remember. The bronkylos were thought to be a QB shy of challenging the chiefs for a-west supremacy. Hence the all in move on Rusty Wilson.
Ffwd to last season. Jacket proved a terrible HC with astonishingly bad decision instincts. Wilson proved Rustier than a'38 DeSoto. Then jevonte Williams went down week 4 in front of a defense that was quickly losing the prior seasons mojo.
It was an epic disaster. The opposite of the Vikes 2022 campaign of great fortune & even better luck. In Denver. Every sure thing showed up on crutches. The mile high kids did nothing right. It was all very walMart Mediocre.
Ffwd again. A much better HC is in place. The defense was shored up and the RB room enhanced.
But, Williams injury is quite the amazing disaster. Not 1 but 3 turn ligaments. Nearly as horrific as t2gloves near amputation.

It's unlikely Javonte Williams is the opening day bell cow. Dalvin Cook is a same playbook short term fix that allows Williams more time. Call it the perfect insurance policy. Maybe Javonte & Dalvin can tag team a new state farm campaign? Dalvins agent should be pressing the folks on the farm. Maybe it can make up for the gigantic paycheck loss it's going to take for Dalvin to accept a trade to the Denver Walmart Greeters.
