I'm sure the Vikes would have preferred Dalvin stay. The evolution of positional value, the cap- the cents didn't make sense.
Dalvins viking career- 27 games of 73 played he rushed for 100 or more. He was a dam fine receiver out of the backfield as well. Never more evident than the 62yd TD reception vs the colts in 2022. A score that tied the game at 36- a new comeback record in the NFL circus era.
You can be sure Dalvin's comeback vs Indy wasn't the last exhuberent comeback in his career. I expect he resurfaces quickly, and most likely in Buffalo. A reunion with his lil bro James and his minny miracle comrade Stephen Diggs. It it the backfield I envisioned for the Vikes a couple drafts back, when the Vikes instead passed on drafting James a handful of times.
I like the story... Cook, Cook & Diggs. Fronting the Joshua Tree. Maybe a recommitment to defense for the Bills? It would make the bills a much more interesting watch. Dalvin leaking out of the backfield as Tree uses his legs to suck the lbers up. Dalvin for 62 yds feels like a more frequent possibility to this fan.
Dalvin isn't the greatest inside runner. He been "blowed up" in the hole too many times. Hitting the line with knees churning shoulders square never was his strength. It became less so as the # of los tackles mounted.
Dalvin is neither a jag or the best RB in football. But he is a helluva playmaker in space. If he signs with the Bills. I expect his career to explode. Good for him. Maybe he pockets the list cap-cut cash rather quickly.
Skol Dalvin. You'll be missed
